Survey Party Chief

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Sigma Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking a Survey Party Chief to join our company in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This person should have a minimum of 5 years experience surveying in the field and be capable of the following:

  • Performing and supervising all field work including: Boundary & Topographical Surveys, Construction Layout, and As-Built surveys.
  • Utilizing Leica Robotic total stations and GPS/GNSS RTK Units.
  • Performing field calculations and sketches.
  • Downloading and compiling field data sketches.
  • Checking raw field data.
  • Providing quality control on all survey documents including field notes, sketches, plans, etc.
  • Supervising and maintaining company vehicle and survey equipment.
  • Supervising preventative maintenance and repair of survey field equipment.
  • Assisting in staff recruitment.
  • Traveling occasionally with overnight stays, as required.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience surveying in field utilizing Robotic Total Stations and RTK Systems.
  • Experience surveying for LA DOTD is desirable.
  • Professional Land Surveying License not required.
  • Must be a High School Graduate.
  • College coursework a plus including strong math and computer skills.
  • Possess good organizational and decision making skills.
  • Must be dependable, self-motivated, and hard working.
  • Ability to work robotically and/or independently.
  • Valid Drivers license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel.
