Baton Rouge Branch Receives 2008 State Public Relations Award

The Baton Rouge Branch received the ASCE National 2008 State Public Relations Award at the National Convention in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania in November, 2008. Baton Rouge Branch SPAG Chairman, Jeff Duplantis, accepted the award on behalf of the Branch from ASCE National Past President David Mongon. As part of the branch's program to improve public awareness of the civil engineering profession, they developed an area wide advertising campaign to coincide with National Engineering Week. The Interstate 10 and College intersection was selected as the location to place advertisement on an electronic billboard promoting civil engineering. The billboard advertisement was designed to educate the driving public to the diversity of our profession.
